Funk Babblings

Ya know, it used to be that going through old clutter might find you stuff that you'd lost a decade ago. But thanks to the digital age, going through old clutter can find you stuff that someone else did a decade ago, and that you'd never seen before. Yet it can still feel like finding stuff you'd lost a decade ago....

( OK, let me explain. )

nontacitare is on her way out of town (or into town, for many of you) for the weekend to go to an academic conference. I'll have the house to myself until Sunday evening.

What will I do?

Well, one thing I'll probably do is listen to all the new music that just arrived for me. Last weekend I paid off a bunch of bills, and decided I could afford to catch up on my indie-music wishlist that has grown so much in the past ten weeks (though some of this had been pending for a couple years now). The tunes started arriving yesterday, about 10½ hours' worth ( so far.... )

And I have about seven or eight more discs on the way from three other places. I'm also still awaiting a nice big memory card to hold everything for playing on my Lyra MP3 player.

More excitement is on the way next week.....
