What will I do?
Well, one thing I'll probably do is listen to all the new music that just arrived for me. Last weekend I paid off a bunch of bills, and decided I could afford to catch up on my indie-music wishlist that has grown so much in the past ten weeks (though some of this had been pending for a couple years now). The tunes started arriving yesterday, about 10½ hours' worth so far....
Yesterday brought a nice big box from CDBaby. About half was stuff that had sounded good on a sampler CD they sent with a previous order a couple years ago, and half was stuff that I just discovered recently. Quite a varied selection of sounds here.
Cherrybomb - Living Room Sessions
Gidgets Ga Ga - Don't Boris
Jonathan Coulton - Smoking Monkey
Jonathan Coulton - Where Tradition Meets Tomorrow
s.e.k.s. - Life In Venus
Jettison Red - Clear As Day
Jettison Red - Travel By Telephone
Alix Olson - Built Like That
Sophia - Sophia
Sophia - Start Anew
The Mot!ves Project - So Much More (forget Marley, my reggae has to be dancehall)
Gramophone - Gramophone
bonus freebie: Brother Sean - Just Hold Still (they threw it in, so far the one song I've heard didn't impress me)
Also yesterday, these came from the Bandtrax store:
Popjoy - Anyone Who Cares
X Is X - Concrete Reality
In the mail today, from SayHerName.com, were two CDs from the east-coast and west-coast halves of the Too Much Joy alumni association:
Surface Wound - debut EP
Wonderlick - Topless Demos
And I have about seven or eight more discs on the way from three other places. I'm also still awaiting a nice big memory card to hold everything for playing on my Lyra MP3 player.
More excitement is on the way next week.....
