Today I felt the need for another long bike ride; my last ride was almost a month ago.

Ended up going about 15.5 miles in a little over an hour and a half. (Faster this time because I didn't stop so much.) I think I felt the hills more this time though. I really need to get out there more often; my endurance isn't as good as it was before.

This was all zigzagging through residential streets. I really miss the Olentangy-Scioto bike path (well, mainly the Olentangy part) in Columbus. One of these weekends I should try to make it over to the Ohio-Erie Canal Towpath Trail. It's at least twelve miles from my house, along busy streets, so I'll probably want to drive the bike over there.

It seems that going South is slightly easier than going North on the bike path...it's like an incline for 12 miles. The killer for me is riding up Woody Hayes as I head towards West Campus after a ride...by that point my legs generally feel like jello and the stop lights have a tendency to halt all momentum...which really sucks when you're biking uphill.

Glad you're getting out there. Hope you get a few more in before the weather screws us over! ;-)

Ride safely!

Peace!

Ah yes, I remember that hill, mostly from the days when I parked out on west campus and rode out to get the car every weekend. Hey, at least it's better than the hill going east up 17th avenue from the stadium!

These days the hills are really making me glad I went for the 24-speed bike rather than the 8-speed that was offered to me.

I have quite a ways to go before I can catch up with you.

I remember the hill you're talking about too. I'd take it every so often when I was wandering off to visit some friends at their old house. Coming back was fun, though ;-)

Bah! Enjoy the ride! I have to remind myself constantly that life is at your own pace. I tend to push myself harder than I should because I can get tunnel-vision when I have a goal. Seeing the deer one day reminded me about slowing down and enjoying a bit more.

Peace!
