Hey, I've always wanted to move to California.
If you could persuade [livejournal.com profile] nontacitare, who really likes Ohio autumns and being close to the family, the other major hurdle would be finding jobs for both of us. Mine would be easy, but not hers.

Heh, [livejournal.com profile] nontacitare's brother now lives in L.A., and my mom always loves going to CA (may even be there now, come to think of it), so maybe we could just start moving the whole family out there. :-)

Yeah, I was planning on going to grad school in California a couple of years ago. I, too, have toyed with the idea of moving out there, but convincing Tom would be quite the task.

As for people not loving carbs, what about bagels? Seriously, if full-carb bagels were banned, the outcry from the Jewish population alone would be enough to fuel the movement. And if pasta were banned, the Italians, along with their powerful mafia, would join ranks. I can't think of any other relevant cultural stereotypes right now, but I'll post more when I do. ;)

Ah, thanks, you can singlehandedly make my LJ into a collection of stereotypes. :-)

Heh heh. Well, if you find them too offensive you can always delete them. Though I don't think "Jewish people like bagels" and "Italians like pasta" are going to raise any eyebrows.
