Yeah, I accidentally picked up some low-carb muffins at the store once. I had the same reaction you did. "What the hell? Aren't muffins supposed to have lots of carbs?" Suffice it to say they were horrible.

I am mildly concerned, after reading part of the article you posted, that Atkins' dream of a diet revolution, where high-carb food would be illegal and banned, isn't as crazy a possibility as I might have once thought. But I believe the fatties of this country would all rally as one if someone really tried to take their carbs away. :)

Nah, most people don't care about carbs. They'd only rally as one if someone tried to take their meat and fat away. Thus the popularity of Atkins over vegetarian diets.

BTW, I dislike reduced-fat stuff too. Fats are important.
