Kerry truly rocks.

If you didn't see John Kerry's acceptance speech tonight, go watch it!
(If that link doesn't work, go to C-SPAN's Dem Convention page.)

It wasn't that long ago that I was fairly anti-Kerry. That speech should make anyone into a Kerry believer. Wow.

Didn't see the speech last night (still don't have a TV, was busy cleaning out the old place) but I've been finding I really don't like listening to Kerry making speeches, and this disturbs me. He has this sonorous voice that sounds like an evil minister inciting his congregation to persecute someone. (Not the words, just the tone.)

This one's different

Watch this one. Really. His best speech ever.

But what if I'm not voting for anyone, but rather against someone? :) Will it still convince me?

convincing

Will it still convince me?

Yes. You'll be voting for Kerry instead of against Bush.

Dude, he just spent a full minute and a half to stop saying "Thank you" and move on to "I'm John Kerry."

-- Still watching. . .

Oops. He just said "Thank you, Thank you" again.

Loud room. Cheering crowd. Directional microphone.

Ooh. He's quoting bible verses. "Honour thy father and mother". . .

But what really got me here was this: Kerry is shouting about how the flag "doesn't belong to a political party," and "doesn't belong to" this and that, and all I can think is: "It belongs in a museum!" "So do you, Dr. Jones! So do you!"

"It belongs in a museum!" "So do you, Dr. Jones! So do you!"

LOL!

Dunno about Columbus, but around here flying the flag seems to be code for supporting Bush. Especially if it's particularly large or garish.

It's very enlightening to check his statistics while listening to the speech. I'm learning a lot about poverty guidelines. . .

Oh yeah...

If Kerry doesn't convince you, check out his daughter Alexandra. A vote for Kerry is a vote for his hot daughter. :-)

You know me. I'm all about voting in hotties.

However, is this the one who everyone says is hot, but really isn't? Or is that her sister?

Either way, I haven't seen them looking all that great. But then, I have a tough criteria, really.

Dark-haired one. She gave her own speech a bit earlier in the night, which you can find at C-SPAN's site.

Video of her speech is here (or somewhere around here).

Though some prefer these photos.

To be perfectly honest with you, the pictures of Kerry's daughter like that made me less likely to vote for him. Our country should be run by someone with a more respctable family than that.

Ah yes, our president's family must be respectable.

Did you know that camera flashes can make some materials turn translucent on film when they were opaque to the eyes in the room?

btw, I demand brownie points for not saying, "Sure she's hot. For a liberal." Because I almost did write that.

What are you talking about? All the liberals are hotter than the conservatives! (obligatory link)

Rob - meet [livejournal.com profile] khaosworks. You might enjoy his stuff, especially some of his recent comments on Kerry. "Separated at birth", perhaps, in particular.
