I've shopped for them at Home Depot and Giant Eagle. About the same limited selection at both.

The directions on the package say not to use them in recessed ceiling fixtures due to heat.

I think I may be more sensitive to 60Hz flicker than most people.

I may have misspoken about color temperature; as tesinth points out, it's not so much the overall color temperature, but the quality of light due to the fact that it's emitting a few narrow bands rather than a continuous spectrum.

Unfortunately, in my personal experience with what's available to me, the places where I *can* use CF are limited. I'm not happy about it, but it's true.
