When you're done with Season 1, I have Season 2 for you. Does Season 1 include the mini series that started it? Probably. You wont be disappointed. Its one of the best shows on TV. Also, VERY HOT CHICKS. Oh Starbuck, how I love thee. And, I have an autographed photo of Number 6, you'll meet her.
Creation Entertainment does a pretty good (very broad) Sci-fi Con. http://www.creationent.com/calendar.htm The Grand Slam summit is a more broad one. Quite good, although famously expensive. I've been to their ELF con last year, and if the stars align, this year too.
Also....42 huh? I may have to indulge. I love cons. I also love cosplay, too bad I'm seamstress-ly challenged. Although Zella isn't, she said I could always commission her.

mini-series

Yup, the miniseries is on there. I'll probably watch it this week; I was thinking of doing so tonight, but I just got home after getting only 3 hours sleep last night, and have to go to work in the morning, so signs point to No.

What I've seen of Starbuck doesn't do much for me... not quite my type.
