Today was a day of photographic transition for me.

I finally got around to dropping off my last roll of APS film to be developed. I've had my digital camera for about seven months now, and for a while before that I had only been sporadically using my now-obsolete APS camera, so it'll be interesting to see how old some of these pictures are -- and how the undeveloped film held up over time. The guy at the camera shop said that APS is rare enough these days that he had to send my film out for development, and I won't get it back until Friday.

Meanwhile, I bought the photo printer I've had my eye on, the Epson Stylus Photo R320, and tonight I set it up to the point that I can print directly from my camera's memory card. Printing from the computer comes later as a bonus. But now, for snapshots at least, my transition from film to digital is complete. No more hassling with waiting to fill up a roll, then taking it to be developed. Though I'll still keep my all-manual 35mm SLR around for when I want more control and sharpness (and don't mind the bulk).

Soon I'll finish writing about my busy weekend, including how I happened to get this printer.
