Funk Babblings

Over a year ago, featherynscale announced the 2009 CD Swap. The participants were divided into groups, and were to send out mix CDs to the rest of their group. The primary rule, besides being playable on a normal CD player, was that the CDs must have a theme.

I had participated in 2008, and since it took a couple months to get my CDs out that I made that my theme: It's About Time!

I had no idea that I'd be much much later with my 2009 CDs. I finally mailed them out yesterday morning. I ended up making two mixes this time:

• Tue 9:13am Backed up traffic on I-70 means a stop at Bexley Cup O Joe. It's perfectly logical. Really! #
• Tue 3:26pm Interesting that in this age of iPhones and Androids the "mobile" sites are leaving simpler mobile browsers (e.g. Opera Mini) behind. #

• Mon 11:03am trying to make Ubuntu as happy with my wired connection as with my wireless connection, and remembering when that situation was reversed. #
• Mon 5:59pm wondering if I'm the only programmer who likes vi but hates Vim. #

• Sun 1:24pm just realized that my laser printer's fan is louder than my computer. By a lot. #

• Sat 6:51pm made up for getting up way-early for a vet appt by napping all afternoon and then getting us pizza in bed for dinner. Maybe some wine too... #

• Wed 10:13am bet Obama is glad that Apple didn't schedule an evening event. #
• Wed 1:39pm I hear Apple has announced a super-sized iPod Touch. #iPad #
• Wed 5:39pm inspired by the iPad to finally (re)upgrade my iPod Touch to be app-capable. Any chance of iWork on the small screen? :-) #

• Mon 8:31am after a series of old-school Unix job listings on Craigslist, someone's had enough: is.gd/6ZYSa #

• Sat 5:15pm Tip: If you hear a sound like a large ever-sustained bell upon getting in the car, don't blame the car. It may be your phone. #
• Sat 7:07pm wishing I'd put my PostScript return-address-label program up on my website. Seems to be completely gone. But I can still print graph paper! #

• Wed 1:15pm learned the hard way that the (auto-updated) new version of Firebug crashes 64-bit Firefox. Had to figure out how to downgrade Firebug. #

• Mon 10:08am wondering if the slowness of my old Pentium-III machine came from a dying disk, and if my new SATA disk will improve things. #
• Mon 10:07pm just remembered that there was a new Dollhouse this weekend..... #
