A couple months ago, my watch died. I bought the watch back in 1994, and wore it all the time. Initially I thought it was just a dead battery, but when the jeweler tried to replace the battery he couldn't get it working quite right again. (Possibly because I'd tried to replace the battery myself first, but we'll ignore that....) So I started relying more on my cell phone when I need to know the time, and worrying about the time even less. I did buy a new one right before PSG (which is a bit too clock-driven), but that was just a stopgap, and I don't really like it. But I haven't seen one I like as much as the dead one.
This week our answering machine died. I've had that since 1994 too, or possibly since late 1993. I'm going out soon to find another one. I'm not convinced I'll find one of those I like either. (Did I mention that I'm very picky about my electronics?)
Update: Hey cool, I found almost the same thing, just updated a bit with a new shape, a new feature or two.
Now I'm trying to think of what other devices there might be that I got in 1994 and use all the time. I might want to think about looking for backups now....
