That's kinda the opposite of what I gathered. (I get the impression that the U.S. press is biased toward Georgia though.) What I got is that Georgia decided they finally had the skillz to put down their longtime-breakaway province, and then that province called in Russia to help.

There doesn't really seem to be a good guy here.
